Encouraging students to be achievers

Social achievers award presentation ceremony held at Shri Krishnaswamy College for Women, Anna Nagar on 18.09.2014 is initiated with the motive of encouraging the students to involve themselves help the society. The College Principal Dr.K.P.Malathi Shiri while welcoming the gathering stated that students should serve the needy people in the society.

The College Director, Mr.Arun honoured the Chief Guest Dr.P.David Jawahar, Registrar, University of Madras. Dr.P.David Jawahar in his speech said that helping the needy doesn’t always involve giving money. Dr.P.David Jawahar honoured the awardees, Prof.S.Selvakumar for polishing footwear of passersby for the noble cause of Education, Mr.Solomon Raj, for being a father to deserted HIV positive children, Mr.Seshadri, for rendering selfless service to any needy person and Ms.Josna Valsa Joseph, for skipping a meal meaningfully and sharing the credit with her team mates.  The programme was anchored by Dr.Girija, Department of Tamil. The function ended with vote of thanks by Dr.Leema Rose, Department of Commerce.
