Chennai Metro Rail trial run and testing is now regularly conducted along the elevated stretch between Koyambedu and Ashok Nagar. Frequent train trips are done across the elevated stretch along 100 Feet Road to check speed of the train.
Of the two lines running between the destinations, only one has been electrified. The costly Chennai Metro Rail Project is expected to commence train operations soon covering a distance between Koyambedu and St Thomas Mount station.
