Food Wastage Awareness Programme

An awareness programme on food wastage was recently held at Leo Matric Higher Secondary School, Anna Nagar West Extn. It was an exciting day for the students with a lovely array of colourful food items and an aroma that attracted everyone’s attention.

The function was not a food carnival. It was organised to create awareness among the students to prevent food wastage. Children displaying picture poster containing messages on food wastage was an important part of the programme.

The children shared their food with each other. The activity made students to realize that wasting food is not nice as there are millions around the world who are hungry and starving. More over thousands die of malnutrition every year. Food wastage is a serious and National problem too that needs important attention, says Mrs.Hepzibah Solomon, Vice Principal of Leo School.
