Highways Department Installs New Direction Boards

Chennai city roads are all set for a major makeover. New direction boards indicating the route to be taken to reach various destinations have been installed at various roads in the city.

One such board has been installed by the Highways Department at 100 Feet Road, Thirumangalam. As part of its effort to beautify the city roads, Chennai Corporation has also placed new street name boards in and around Anna Nagar Western Extension and at East Avenue in Korattur.

The new reflector type boards have road names on a dark blue background which is clearly visible to the motorists. The project is aimed at enhancing the safety of road users and streamlining traffic movement. The newly installed boards will help road-users extensively. Moreover the retro-reflective sheets will help road users to easily identify road directions at night.
