Tamil Nadu Arts and Crafts Improvement Association, Padappai, (Recognised by National Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi) had organised a two day, Artist Welfare Camp and Art Mela cum sale-2013 from 22nd to 23rd June 2013 at Thakkar Bapa Vidhyalaya, No-58, Vekatnarayana Road, T.Nagar, Chennai – 17.
The valedictory and prize distribution function took place on 23-06-2013. The special guest Shri Pradeep Ambare M.Tech., IRSS (Chief Manager, Southern Railway, Chennai distributed the certificates to all the participants in the presence of Shri D.Neduncheliyan (Eminent Artist).

Dr.B.R.Annapillai, Founder and President of Tamil Nadu Arts and Crafts Improvement Association (TACIA) encouraged the participating artists and made sure the event was successful. The Tamil Nadu Arts & Crafts Improvements Association (TACIA) was established in 1975 to promote and encourage young, enthusiastic and professional Artists to facilitate development of art & culture among general public.
It is a recongnized body of the National Lalit Kala Akademi and Tamil Nadu Ovia Nunkalai Kuzhu. The organization conducts annual Exhibitions, Artists Camps, Art Demonstrations, Competitions, Seminars, etc for the benefit of our members and public.
Subsequently, through TACIA, the Pallava Artists Village was founded in 1001 by Shri B.R.Anna Pillai at Padappai (Near Tambaram). Several of the artist members have won State and National level awards for their efforts in spreading the art across India.
The association had also contributed to the Kargil War Relief Funds and for the benefit of mentally challenged people. Recently, in 2012, the association along with Ananda Vikadan, had donated exhibits worth nearly Rs.4 Lakh for contribution towards the Thane Puyal Relief Fund.
These noble needs were widely appreciated by the Press and Media. In 2012, a grand 37th Annual Art Exhibition was conducted at Lalit Kala Akademi, Chennai, where 53 Artists had participated with more than 250 exhibits. The association will conduct its 38th Annual Art Exhibition for a week from 19 to 25 August 2013 at Lalit Kala Akademi, Chennai.
