On 18th June 2013, Zee Tamizh along with Rotary International District 3230, have embarked on a new initiative which emerged out of concern for children who could not pursue their dream education for the lack of funds.
Thus was born “JAI HO”.Jai Ho Scholarships 2013 is an initiative by Zee Tamil & Rotary International District 3230 to touch the lives of 10th & 12th Standard students and thereby their parents, well-wishers in Tamil Nadu and people at large. This is a CSR Initiative to bring dream education closer to the less privileged and to curb the percentage of school dropouts in Tamil Nadu every year.
This Scholarship is open to all the 10th & 12th Standard students who have appeared in the Mar-Apr 2013 Examinations conducted by Government of Tamil Nadu. The eminent Panel of Judges comprising of Mr.Natraj(Former DGP), Justice K M Basha, Kalaimamani Abhirami Ramanathan, Actress Rohini, leading advocate and social activist Elizabeth Seshadri and Rtn K Kumaran will select 2000 students for various scholarships and sponsorships from the enrolled students.Actors Jeeva, Simran, Komal Sharma, Chinni Jayanth, director Selvamani and TV artists Mahalakshmi and Srikaran came to the launch event and extended their support for this noble cause towards educating poor deserving students.
