Awareness Programme On Water

The National Green Corps (NGC) organised a one day seminar on Water in commemoration of World Environment Day at Chennai Corporation Girls Higher Secondary School,Nungambakkam,Chennai. Mr.G.Thangaraj, District Coordinator inaugurated the seminar on water in the presence of Mr.L.Durai ,State coordinator and HM Mrs.Elizabeth. 

A team of microbiologists led by Dr.S.Krishnaraj from Eurekha Forbes explained the origin of water, water testing techniques, Reverse osmosis process, Rain water Harvest methods and water  purification  methods etc.160 students from various schools of Chennai East Educational District along with  their teacher coordinators took part. 

Students interacted at the end of the program during question answer session. Earlier all students and teachers visited the exhibition on water purification methods and devices.

A team of microbiologists  explained the contamination of water and the purification processes and stressed the need for plastic reduction. An instant water testing was also done. Mrs.Hemalatha NGC teacher proposed vote of thanks.
