At present there is no government hospital with clinical laboratory in Ambattur neighborhood. It is reported that Mr.S.Vedhachalam MLA of Ambattur Constituency made a humble request with the Honourable Chief Minister in the Assembly recently to start a 50 bed government hospital which will cater to the emergency need of medical aid related to accidents and cardiac ailments etc. In addition to government hospital he also insisted the chief minister to consider opening of a government college in Ambattur or Padi for the less privileged.
The ideal sites for the projects are available in Athipattu (Ward 86) measuring about 13.5 acres and the vast vacant site within the ITI campus in Ambattur near MTC terminus. K Ramadoss, Social Activist stated that starting of a Government hospital and college is indeed a worthy and ideal suggestion made by Mr.S.Vedhachalam MLA of Ambattur Constituency.
