Heaps of waste materials and
abandoned vehicles continue to eat into Anna Nagar’s road space affecting the
free flow of traffic. In order to make roads clean and neat and obstacle free
Chennai Corporation has started a special exercise to clean up roads in and
around Anna Nagar.
Road side waste materials, debris from footpaths and
garbage’s along 17th Main Road, Anna Nagar was cleaned by the civic
authorities using a mini bulldozer and a truck.
The clean up drive follows an announcement
by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. It is reported that Chennai Corporation Zones
in Anna Nagar and Ambattur uses conservancy trucks, road rollers, tricycles and
tippers for the special cleaning drive. Mayor Saidai S. Duraisamy has also
introduced a special project to clear the debris and the roadside encroachments
after inspecting and visiting several roads in Chennai City.
