Speed Restrictions Required At 18th Main Road And 6th Avenue

The 18th Main Road stretch in Anna Nagar West has heavy vehicle movement and lacks a good traffic management system which is an absolute must. Speed breakers play an important role in curtailing the speed of vehicles. 

One such point which needs speed restriction is the bend at 18th Main Road. Motorists feel that speed breakers need to be erected at intersections of 13th Main Road and 6th Avenue junction. Besides, pedestrian crossing zones should be marked and painted. 

Though important in preventing over speeding, speed breakers should be constructed in a way so that they are not a hindrance to either vehicle users or pedestrians. Absence of speed breakers at strategic points can be hazardous. According to most of the Anna Nagar residents speed restrictions will be a boon especially at One-Way Zones which has heavy flow of vehicle movement. Motorists also pointed out that the fact that speed breakers should be installed strictly as per the specifications recommended and well painted to ensure better visual at night.
