A women leader conference titled “Lead, Empower and Succeed
“was inauguration on 6th March 2013 at Vijay Park Hotel Arumbakkam by Honorable
Minister B.Valarmathi, Minister for Social Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu.
The conference will be end on 7th March 2013.
In this conference 300 community
women leaders are participating and they are having panel discussion on the
following topics, namely Women’s rights,Anti-trafficking, - Role of CBOs, Strategies
for an effective resource mobilization, Savings
and quality of life, Challenges in SHG formation and strengthening of CBOs ,Family budget for improving life style and
on the importance of savings and CBO sustainability. Tamil Nadu AIDS initiative
(TAI) is administered by the Voluntary Health Services with the financial
support of Avahan.
TAI intervention had been implemented for HIV/AIDS control
and Prevention in 13 districts of Tamil Nadu from the Year 2004. Follow up of
this Initiative, beneficiaries have been empowered and focused into Social
Security Issues. This results in the improvement of Social, Economical and Quality
of life of marginalized population
