The Chennai East District National Green Corps (ngc) , Dept of Environment and the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET),Triplicane jointly organised an awareness program on Environment in commemoration of National Science Day(NSD) 2013 at DIET on 28.02.2013.

Mr.Ramnath Chandrasekar,an environmentalist & wildlife photographer screened the film "Truth about Tigers " shot by Shekar dathathreya for the 165 student teachers. The telefilm is about saving the environment and Tigers , the national Animal.
It also emphasized the threats faced by the tigers by the anti social elements. An interaction with teacher students was conducted after the session where a deep discussion on threats to environment were analysed.Selvi A.Mary Jancy,Senior Lecturer,DIET also in charge for science awareness programs briefed the program and thanked the guests. She also announced that an one day awareness program will be conducted for the DIET students during march during water day.
