The Chennai District National Green
Corps (NGC) conducted an awareness competition on the title “ ill effects of
Plastics " for school students at Pachaiyappa's College Higher Secondary
School, Parry’s.
Dr.M.Jayanthi IFS, Additional Director, DOE, Chennai - 15
inaugurated the competitions in the presence of Mr.G.Thangaraj and
Mr.M.Ravikumar Dist Coordinators after interaction with students and NGC
teacher coordinators and insisted the ill effects of plastics usage.
Mr.N.Padmanaban conducted essay, oratorical and painting competitions for
students assembled from Chennai North and Chennai East educational districts.
Shields, merit certificates and prizes were given to the winners by Mr.Anantha
Sayanam HM of the school who targeted the theme and topic. School students took
oath to recycle and reduce plastics and to use cloth bags in their daily use
along with parents.
