Indian Dance Festival 2013 organised by
Department of Tourism, Government of Tamil Nadu was recently held at
Mamallapuram. During the festival, Indian classical dance forms like Bharat Natyam, Kuchipudi,
Kathak and Kathakali were performed against the magnificent backdrop of the
Pallava Rock Sculpture in the city of Mahabalipuram. The crowd got a visual
treat by the incredible performances.Tourism
Minister Gokula Indira inaugurated the Dance Festival.
Minister for Animal Husbandry, TKM Chinnaiah
and several higher officials of the tourism department participated in the
inaugural ceremony. Several dance items including Bharatham, Kuchippudi and
Kathakali were performed in the fest.
Tourists from the USA, Italy, Spain and
several other nations enjoyed the dance performance. Students of Sri Narthana
Ganapathy Natyalaya gave an excellent dance performance during the festival.
Sri Narthana Ganapathy Natyalaya is running very successful by “Bharata Kala
Ratnam”, "Narthana Sironmani" Guru Sasikumar.
