Vehicle movement is
smoother along 100-Feet Road from Guindy Kathipara to Koyambedu. The road has
been widened to facilitate the on-going Metro Rail pillar construction work.
Also,
the road width has nearly doubled along many places following the removal of
barricades that fenced the elevated pillars.
According to Chennai Metro Rail
Limited (CMRL) the Highways department will relay the road between the foot of
the Kathipara grade separator and Chennai Moffusil Bus Terminus (CMBT).Similarly,
parts of Poonamallee High Road and Mount Road, which have been occupied for
Metro Rail works, are also expected to get a facelift following work
completion.
The elevated viaduct construction from Koyambedu to
St Thomas Mount is progressing fast and at this rate Chennai city would have
metro trains between Koyambedu and St Thomas Mount by 2013.
