Lions Club of Mylai Abhilasha encouraged National Green corps (NGC) students for a campaign ' waste to wealth ' by inaugurating the Vermi Compost plant at Chennai Boys Higher Secondary School in the presence of HM Mrs.T.Sheila Rose and District Coordinator G.Thangaraj. After tree plantation by President Mrs.Varalakshmi Mohan the Vermi pit was filled with kitchen waste and garbage's.
Mr.M.Ravikumar,Mr.N.Padmanabhan NGC coordinators explained the students about the role of earthworms in transformation of waste into natural manure after a particular period. Mrs.Chitra Ramamurthy,Secretary , Mrs.T.Thilagalakshmi Treasurer, Ms.Booma Gopal , Mrs.Sakunthala Baktha vathsalam active members explained the importance of medicinal plants and Mrs.R.Arulmary , Mr.K.Arumuga Perumal NGC teachers of the school coordinated this project.
