Following the recent heavy showers the water storage levels in ICF reservoirs are close to their full capacity. The ICF lake or Villivakkam reservoir is covered with aquatic vegetation. The water in the ICF Lake, is now matted with hyacinth in many parts and presents a picture of neglect.
Residents demand that the water body be maintained properly. Measures needs to beautify the lake. It is reported that the water level in Red Hills reservoir touched the maximum level..
Surplus water was released from it to prevent overflowing. With the good storage levels this year, officials are confident that that there would not be any shortage in the water supply to the city.
