As part of the Diwali Celebration, Indian Community Welfare Organization- ICWO and Cognizant Technology Solutions distributed Dresses, sketch pencils, books and notebooks, crayons, tooth brush and sweets to 114 Homeless children on 22nd October 2011 at Chennai in 8 places, namely Fraser Salai Broadway , Pidariyar Koil Street Broadway, N.S.C Bose Road Broadway, Rattan Bazaar Broadway, Memorial Hall Park town, Egmore Railway Station, Whannels Salai Egmore and Nainiappan Naicken Street Park Town.
As part of our homeless children empowerment program in Chennai, M/S Cognizant Technology Solutions, a multinational IT company as an Outreach program which is the part of Corporate Social Responsibility is working along with ICWO and conducting educational and skill building classes for homeless children during weekends (Saturday & Sunday) from 3.45pm to 6.00pm.
The children were so eager and happy to receive the gifts, making their Diwali festival with the most memorable in their life. Mr.A.J.Hariharan Director said that this type of support will encourage the homeless children to feel happy, togetherness, confident and help them in concentrate in their studies. He thanked all volunteers Mr.Krisnasamy, Mr.Muthuraman, Mr.Subburathinam, Mr.Ganapathy, Mr.Dhivanand, Ms.Dhanalakshmi, Mr.Kumar CS, Mr.Manoj, Mr.Ganapathy, Mr.Annadurai, Mr.Baskaran, S.Madusuthanan, Mr.Rajagopalan, Ms.Saranya, S.Prasanna, C.Gopinath, Ms.Jayalakshmi, Mr.Ashokan, Mr.Senthil Raja, Mr.Balraj, Ms.Brindha, Ms.Jisha, Mr.Jeyakumar, Mr.Sharma, Mr.Sidhartha from CTS Outreach program.
