Competitions In Tamil Marks Inauguration Ceremony

Mundasukavi Muthamizh Mandram of the Tamil department of Shri Krishnaswamy College for Women, Anna Nagar, Chennai – 40 was inaugurated on 27.08.2011. 

The chief guests were Mr. Indra Soundrarajan, renowned Tamil Novelist cum story writer for tele-serials, Mr. K.B. Arun, Director, Shri Krishnaswamy Educational Trust, Mr. Francis Pastin, Industrialist, Mr. Kamala Ramanathan, a Pattimandram Speaker and Tamil Writer & Lion A.V. Kumaresan.

The college Principal, Dr. K. P. Malathi Shiri welcomed the gathering. To mark the formation of the Mundasukavi Muthamizh Mandram, the college had conducted inter-collegiate Tamil competitions in poetry, essay writing and oration.

Over 130 students from 32 city colleges participated in the various events.  The winners were awarded prizes and certificates during the inauguration function. A book titled “Yenipadi Yen ippaddi” by Mr. Kamala Ramanathan was released by Mr. Indra Soundararajan, whose first copy was received by Mr. Francis Pastin. All the activities were conducted Dr. M. Girija, Ms. P. Vimala, & Ms. J. Chandrika faculty, Department of Tamil.
