Thara Ganesan, is a Chennai based poet and artist. She wears many hats as she is a poetess turned artist with five poety books to hers credit. Thara has an academic background in English Literature, Management and History. She is also a short story writer and a bilingual translator. Besides she is also the Founder Editor of a widely read e-magazine www.chikkymmukky.com Over a decade Thara Ganesan has been working in the field of Literature. She has written 5 Poetry books, namely Ullangal Theepidithal ( If Hearts are set on fire),Koozhankarkal (Pebbles), Ozhirum Neerootru ( Sparkling Spring), Rudhu Vanam ( Spring Woods) and Earkanave Irandirunden ( Dead I am, already) and a recently translated novella AWE. Thara told the Chennai Plus reporter Elwyn, that her abundant love for Literature and arts has slowly changed her from a talented poetess into a creative artist. She has participated in many group shows and workshops, namely an art show at Russian Center for Science and Culture, Chennai, workshop on natures fury on Japan, art camp at Pondichery etc. Whatever be it, to Thara , art is ethereal. Each work of art that she creates is meditation. Art has no definite form or shape, it is infinite and a process of evolution.To Thara art is a celestial gush, a mystical tunnel, a vibrant ray, a milky way or all in one. It exists to be reinvented by every spirited artist, characterizing itself through the emotions. Like poetry, art is also spontaneous it overflows of powerful feelings, it takes its origin from emotions recollected in tranquility.
A solo art exhibition of artist and poet Thara Ganesh titled Psychedlic Enigma was inaugutated on 1st September 2011 at Vinnyasa Premier Art Galery by the chief guestHonourable Vladimir V Marly, Vice-Counsul and Director of Russian Culture for Science Culture- Chennai in the presence of Poet Dr.Thamizhachi Thangapandian, Former Professor of English, Queens Mary College, Chennai. MrA.Viswam, eminent artist was the guest of honour.Her solo art show titled Psychedelic Enigma is on at Vinnyasa Premier Art Gallery, 21/ 11, CIT Colony, First Main Road, Mylapore till 10th September 2011.
