Unusable Pedestrian Path Along Padi Flyover

The pedestrian path towards Villivakkam across the railway track on the Padi flyover is lying in a neglected state and unclean environment surroundings. The recent rains have made the path muddy and slushy. In Chennai, it is the pedestrians who have been neglected the most due to poor pavements.

In the roads the pedestrians are unable to use the foot paths due to the fact that most paths are encroached by hawkers and commercial establishments or unofficially converted into vehicle parking lots.

More importance needs to be given for pedestrians. Safety footpaths for people where places have no proper paths in Chennai city should be given the highest priority. The Padi flyover pedestrian path is just an example of the state of the pedestrian pavements. I

n the city roads it is reported that many pavements are unusable and appropriate steps is required to provide good pavements for safety of pedestrians.
