B.Seran has a unique hobby, talent and imagination. He collects collect waste wood pieces and transforms it into excellent works of art. B.Seran, an employee of Chennai Port Trust is a self taught artist. The art is better known as Driftwood art. Seran stated that any one can do it. According to him its re-thinking and turning waste wooden pieces into good use.
During his free time, Seran goes around looking for waste wood pieces. When Seran finds out that the wood pieces matches exactly the shape of a bird, animal, human being or a reptile, he cuts off the extra edges, gives the piece a fine shinning varnish.
These wooden art works are inexpensive perfect gifts. B.Seran told the Chennai Plus reporter Elwyn, that he has a fantastic collection of wooden art works, including realistic looking wooden models of dinosaurs, birds, snakes, monkey, turtle, bear, deer etc. Many has appreciated his creative ideas and talent.
B.Seran further stated that by making use of waste wood pieces instead of burning it, the air does not get polluted and in a way it helps in controlling global warming.
