The photo taken shows a roofless Anna Square MTC bus stop on Marin Beach Road. In Chennai city there are quite a few number of Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus stops with out proper bus shelters. It is reported that the bus shelters were removed by the Chennai Corporation authorities as they were unauthorized installed by private agencies. No with no shelter people are found waiting in the hot sun or pouring rain for the buses to arrive. This causes inconvenience. Sometimes people stand a wait under the shade of a tree, nearby the MTC bus stop.
The Metropolitan Transport Corporation authorities needs to identify the number of roofless bus stops and take measures to replace the shelters at the bus stops after the existing shelters were removed for the benefit of the public.
