The photo shows the new office building of the Chennai Corporation Zone -5 under construction at Pulla Avenue in Shenoy Nagar. The Zone 5 office is presently functioning at No-183, Poonamalle High Road.Similar projects to construct new office building for the Chennai Corporation Zone-9 office, Zone 2 office (Pulianthope), Zone 10 (Adyar) are under progress.
The Corporation of Chennai is the Oldest Municipal Institution. It was established on the 29th September 1688. The city has been growing in size and population.
The Corporation Head office is located at Ripon Buildings. For the sake of administrative convenience the Corporation area is divided into 10 Zones and each Zone is headed by a Zonal Officer.
