Most of the shops in Anna Nagar area and throughout the city were closed on 5th May 2011 in view of the traders strike. The traders participated to seek ban on foreign investment in retail trade. Tamil Nadu Vanigar Sangankalin Peramaippu, 28th Traders Day State Conference was held YMCA Grounds, Nandanam.The Tamil Nadu Vyaparigal Sangam is conducting this Annual conference at Chennai. This annual event stages agenda items such as the success stories, future plans, issues and matters that are taken as resolutions to the above discussions.
