A commemorative stamp on the 90th birth anniversary of Dr ML Vasanthakumari was release by Union Defence Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitaraman in presence of special guest Minister of State for Communication (Independent Charge) and Minister of State for Railways Sri. Manoj Sinha, Sri. N. Murali, President, The Music Academy and Sri. R. Seshasayee, Chairman, Indus Ind Bank. Sri. Sampath Kumar of Postal Department was also present. The programme was organized by Smt. Sudha Ragunathan, Managing Trustee of Samudhaaya Foundation and disciples of Dr ML Vasanthakumari. There was a short film on Smt. ML. Vasanthakumari by Sri. S.B. Kanthan. Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said it is fortunate to be at The Music Academy a landmark institution that encourages both senior and young talents. Sri. N. Murali, President, The Music Academy said Smt. Vasanthakumari was a musical genius and was versatile in both Carnatic and film music. Smt. Sudha Raghunathan, founder and managing trustee of Samudhaaya Foundation spoke about her foundation’s activities for social causes.
