World Oceans Day is a global day of ocean celebration and collaboration for a better future. On World Oceans Day, people come together to celebrate and honor the ocean, which connects us all. To mark the occasion class 6 to 8 Students of Velammal Main School, Mogappair campus hosted world Oceans Day to highlight the harmful effects of water pollution on 8th June, 2018. Students displayed posters focusing on the theme “Importance of Ocean” and essay writing competition on the same was conducted. Best posters and best essays were awarded.
Finally, Students took an oath to prevent plastic pollution and clean marine litter. A healthy world ocean is critical to our survival. Every year, World Oceans Day provides a unique opportunity to honor, help protect, and conserve our world’s shared ocean. It’s up to each one of us to help ensure that our ocean is healthy for future generations.
