National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE) along with WWF-India Tamil Nadu State Office jointly conducted NGC / Eco club Teachers workshop on Wind Energy and Renewable energy sources on the eve of GLOBAL WIND DAY at NIWE which was inaugurated by Dr.Gomathy Nayagam Director General, NIWE in the presence of Col.Sanath WWF. 127 teachers from Chennai , Thiruvallur andKanchipuram took part and teachers were given awareness demonstration on Wind, Solar and Bio mass plants as a part of field visit. On the second Day Painting and Quiz competitions were conducted for 179 NGC/Eco Club students ..Mr.S.Saravanan ,WWF and G,.Thangaraj ,NGC conducted the competitions and Dr.P.Kanagavel Additional Director, NIWE detailed the steps taken by the institute and the role of students and teachers in saving the renewable energy sources.
