Three members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India stood outside Independence Day Park,Nungambakkam on Friday, 14th August 2015 to drive home the message that dog guardians should adopt a lovable Indian dog from the streets or an animal shelter and never patronize breeders and pets stores who sell "foreign" purebreds and add to the homeless-animal crisis.PETA is urging people to stop buying puppies and kittens in favour of adopting an animal from the Indian community.
