The residents of ICF East Colony situated between Vellala street and ICF Police Station (K 7) in Ayanavaram are confronted with many health hazards for more than three decades now due to defecation of the area.Even though the ICF colony has well protected compound wall to a length of one kilometer on the southern side of compound wall and letting their waste/sewage water to flow towards the residents' colony as stated.
The slums numbering more than 1400 families living beyond the compound wall are seen meddled with making holes in the entire length to facilitate the flow of murky water towards the colony where thousands of staff quarters, police station, government aided primary school etc are in existence. The Tamil Nadu Government should also expedite action to rehabilitate the poor slum dwellers who have been assured to get their allotment of houses said K Ramadoss, Environmentalist and service minded individual residing at Ayanavaram.
