Anna Nagar based Indian Community Welfare Organization (ICWO) along with Gramium, Karur had organized a National Girl Child Day programme at ICSA Centre, Jeevana Jothi, on 24th January 2015. There was screening of “Akkam Pakkam” a video documentary on girl child abuse. Thiru. S. Gomathinayagam Avl, Addl. Advocate General of Tamil Nadu, High Court of Madras appreciated the effort of Gramium and ICWO. He suggested to play this Short Film in schools and colleges to create awareness among the young generation.
A.J.Hariharan, Secretary, ICWO said that the documentary film Akkam Pakkam” it extremely good and it will create the excellent source of information for those who are concern.Dr.P.Narayanan, Director, Gramium, Karur said,multi-sectoral approach like educational institutions, Law enforcement agency, Judiciary and NGO to come together to built a better and safe environment for every child. Dr.P.Manoharan, Executive Director, Madurai Non Formal Education Centre speaking on the occasion said, preparing each and every child for the self protection is the need of the hour. Self protection will lead to protect the child from any form of abuse.
