Jaigopal Garodia Memorial Chess Academy had been initiated by Shri.Jaigopal Garodia, Founder and Chairman of JGVV Trust, with objective to popularize the game of chess and to expose the young champions to the State and National level. His wish is being carried out effectively by our Managing Trustee Shri.Ashok Kediaji. Every year Jaigopal Garodia Memorial Chess Academy conducts State Level Open Rapid Chess Tournament for school children at various levels. Jaigopal Garodia Memorial Chess Academy hosted a ‘Two day’ State Level Open Rapid Chess Tournament for school children on 1st and 2nd November 2014.
Shri.Manuel Aaron, India’s First International Master, First Arjuna Awardee presided over the valedictory function and about 120 students have won the prizes. The 1st place winner in all the categories was given Micromax mobiles, Cups and Certificates. Winners of all the five categories were awarded with cash prizes worth of Rs.10,000/- in all. About 690 students from all over Tamil Nadu participated in the chess tournament.
