A four day exhibition cum sale has been organised by Shristi, at D.K. Kalayana Maaligai, 3rd Avenue, near round tana, Anna Nagar. The exhibition is on till 3rd May 2014. This Exhibition celebrates summer, so it called Shristi’s Summer Bonanza. Shristi is a Nungambakkam based organisation working towards empowerment of women. Organised by Mrs. Vasantha Pattabhiraman and her daughter Shobha, the exhibition has stalls of mostly handmade, home-made articles.
The stalls include Ruthu’s Handmade Fashion Jewellery, Gold Covering items. Vattal Vadam, Clothes including Thirupur Export T-Shirts, Children Wear, Nitties Pavadai. On display there are a huge variety of cotton saris. Along with this there are stalls of Life Insurance, Jute bags Handcraft items, Organic plants/products,toys, food stalls and much more. Painting classes, Terracotta jewellery classes are also conducted. Shristi is the brain-child of Mrs.Vasantha Pattabhiraman, and Ms.Shobha.
This mother and daughter team has conducted exhibitions at many places. Shristi creates a platform for women entrepreneurs to exhibit their articles and encourages them to be financially independent, also provide support to their family. Shisti also called the event-makers; organize exhibitions in various venues like Valluvar Kottam, Tradefair, Chennai Trade Centre along with these they also organize theme based parties which includes get-togethers, birthday parties, and more.
