The 37th anniversary celebration of Mithra Rehabilitation Center was held on 29th April 2014. Dr.V.M.Kurian, Cardiologist, MMM Hospital and Vice President of Mithra presided over the celebration. In his address he appreciated the greatness of Sister Mary Theodore whose vision has resulted in Mithra. He also spoke on inclusive education programme in which special children are admitted in normal regular schools.
He also mentioned about making Mithra a model institution. The chief guest Mr.P.V.Ramamoorthy, Joint Director (Retd) Department of Fisheries, Government of Tamil Nadu while addressing the gathering highlighted that love for humanity is the best service to Almighty. He stated that Sister Mary Theodore has done yeoman service. He further stated that self dedicated service is rare but abundant in Mithra. Sister Maria Rosamma, welcomed the gathering.
Dr.S.Sukumar, Director, Hon. Secretary presented the annual report. MITHRA came into being on 19th March 1977 by Sr. Mary Theodore OAM. It offers the differently abled a variety of services all under one roof: Special School, Occupational & Physiotherapy, Vocational Training, Residential facility, Psychiatry Department etc. Mithra Rehabilitation Centre is at D-171, R.V.Nagar, Anna Nagar, Chennai.
