Additional Chennai Metro Train coaches have arrived from Alstom's factory in Brazil. According to CMRL official sources, the trains, which arrived at the Chennai Port on would be moved to Koyambedu depot. The rest of the trains will be manufactured in a factory at Sri City, 55km from Chennai in Andhra Pradesh.
The factory has already started production. The recently trains would also be tested along the Koyambedu CMBT-Ashok Nagar elevated stretch. Chennai Metro Rail Limited aims at starting the services by the end of 2014, after completing construction of stations between Koyambedu (CMBT) and Alandur.
