Special Monument planned at St. George’s School

A function to launch the book titled Contemporary Facets of the Anglo Indian Community by Dr. Geoffrey Kennath Francis was held on 7th March 2014 at St. George’s Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School premises. The book was released by the chief guest Bishop Prakash, Chairman of State Minorities Commission.
Speaking on the occasion, Nigel Foote highlighted the importance of creating a monument for the Anglo-Indian community at the school ground. He said that the Anglo-Indian community deserves a monument to preserve its heritage of rich history for future generations living both in India and abroad.

It is believed that the Anglo-Indian community has existed for over 400 hundred years. The monument will focus on the Anglo-Indian community. Nigel’s personal vision is for a mural that spans the history and highlights historic events, showcases culture and contribution by the Anglo-Indian community in India. Artist and magazine editor and publisher Harry MacLure are calling on creative people to put their thinking caps on and join our focus group meeting in St. George’s School to conceptualize and create a map to get the project underway.

Nigel Foote is from Melbourne, Australia, he is a business man and Film Producer. Nigel has worked as a sales consultant and imaging Specialist in Europe, Asia, Japan, UK and America. He produced his first film last year in Chennai with Harry MacLure and plans to continue co-producing in India to create multi-media content. A Monument to the “Anglo-Indian Community” is an exciting future project of Nigel Foote.
