Promoting Transit development around Koyambedu Metro Station

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) had recently organized a one day workshop on Enabling Transit Oriented Development on station area planning around Koyambedu Metro station. The event was held in collaboration with the Institute for Transportation & Development Policy (ITDP) at Vijay Park Hotel. 

The main objectives of the workshop was to review of Transit Oriented Development and its best practices followed worldwide and also to develop an action plan for putting into operation the station in a manner that benefits public substantially. 

Officials from Corporation of Chennai, Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority, Metropolitan Transport Corporation, Highways Department, Metro Water, etc had participated in the meeting and shared their views transit oriented development and planning around Koyambedu Metro station.
