Better pedestrian crossing zones needed

Chennai city pedestrians face many obstacles. Pedestrians crossing MTH Road stretches in Padi, Ambattur Estate and at Ambattur OT need to be cautious. There is also poor traffic regulation near Sir Ivan Stedford hospital main entrance. Traffic policemen are found on at important intersections such as Ambattur OT junction at Canara Bank bus stop zone.

The conditions of footpaths along MTH Road are still unusable. Clear zebra crossing markings are essential for pedestrians to cross the roads. But in reality, several important roads and traffic junctions along MTH Road do not have clear and visible zebra cross markings. Let the concerned officials take measures to ensure safety of road users and pedestrians along MTH Road and all other important roads in Chennai city.

  1. Excellent. MTH road is one of the most neglected roads in whole of chennai city for the last 20 years. Thanks to all the encroachment traders who have shrunk the road from 150 ft to barely 40 ft in many stretches from padi to thiruninravur. Many innocent people have died in this road. Infact this road has highest fatality in entire chennai city. Current chiefminister has put a G.O. to make this road 6 lanes. All the residents along this road please support your government and not the selfish encroachment traders who have setup shops and are killing innocent people. dont believe the DMK, PMK and congress folks along this stretch. they killed this road.
