As part of the road safety week celebrations in Chennai city, a safety awareness exhibition bus by Institute of Road Transport, Chennai visited Anna Nagar West MTC depot to create awareness among road safety among the general public. Pictorial messages, signals, road signs and working models were the special attractions inside the bus.
According to official sources, Institute of Road Transport was established in the year 1976 under the Tamil Nadu Government. It was registered as a society under the Indian Societies Registration Act of 1860 and has completed 35 years of valuable service to the Government owned transport department. The primary objective of Institute of Road Transport is to conduct research studies on various issues relating to road transport and also improving bus transportation performance by updating latest development that are taking place in the ultra modern fast changing hi-tech world.
