Velammal School Wins Band Competition

The band troupe of Velammal School, Mogappair, won the inter-school band competition which was conducted by Kola Perumal Chetty Vaishnav Senior Secondary School, Poonamallee High Road at Arumbakkam.

 To commemorate the Silver Jubilee year, Kola Perumal School formed the ‘Shri Vallabha Band Troupe’. Students of standard fifth to eight standard receive intensive training in playing the flute, trumpet, clarinet and drums. In the year 2001 an inter-school Band Competition was introduced which was the first of its kind. The inter-school band competition is regularly held and rolling shield is presented to the winning school team.
