As part of its pedestrian footpath improvement scheme, Chennai Corporation has decided to redesign and develop footpaths at bus routes roads in Chennai city. Chennai Corporation has already begun work on granite footpaths on Shanthi Colony 4th Avenue.Chennai Corporation official sources stated that the new pavements are designed taking into account the road's length and width. The Shanthi Colony area residents while welcoming Chennai Corporation’s project stated that measures needs to be taken to complete the footpath construction work at the earliest.
