Unmanned Level Crossing At Padi

The Chennai Division of Southern Railway always gives importance to safety and security. The unmanned open level crossing point below the Padi flyover is frequently used by motorists and pedestrians to reach Villivakkam MTH Road and 100 Feet Road junction. There is no regular train service on the track.
But sometimes shunting engines and new train coaches are moved along the track towards the ICF factory. Residents suggested that as a safety measure a level crossing gate could be installed to regulate vehicle flow and ensure safe movement of trains.

It will also prevent trespassing along the railway tracks. In the month of October 2013, Anna Nagar Railway station completes 10 years of its existence. Let the concerned officials find a proper solution at the Padi level crossing and resume the train service at the earliest.
