Nethrodaya Celebrates Its 11th Anniversary

Nethrodaya is a Social Service organization, serving for the welfare of the differently abled community in Tamil Nadu for the past 11 years. The organization celebrated its eleventh anniversary on 5th October 2013.Distinguished personalities graced the occasion by assuring their unconditional support to Nethrodaya.Mr. Prasanna Kumar Pincha, Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Govt. of India, highlighted various welfare measures initiated by the Governments.

 Thiru. P. Sivasankaran, IAS., Secretary, Welfare of Differently Abled Persons, Govt. of Tamil Nadu listed various government welfare measures implemented for the benefit of the differently abled persons. Nethrodaya scheme of providing free folding sticks for the visually impaired round the year was launched by Shri. Prasanna Kumar Pincha.

Nethrodaya honoured Mr. M. Sivakumar, a visually impaired RTI Activist with “Best Service to the Visually Impaired Award 2013”, who has filed more than 350 RTI applications. Shri. Alab, renowned play back singer, entertained the visually impaired audience with his enthralling singing.

Mr.C.Govindakrishnan, Founder, Nethrodaya, in his address appealed to private sector companies to come forward to provide employment opportunities to the visually impaired persons in a large scale. Nethrodaya is located at Nolambur Phase II, Mogappair West, Chennai-37.
