Exnora International organised a meeting headed by its founder M.B. Nirmal on 10th October 2013 at Koyambedu. The chief guest for the function was Chennai Mayor,Mr Saidai Duraisamy. During the meeting it was officially announced that 10th October will be observed as Anti-Mosquito Day. The Mayor appreciated the activities of Exnora International.
He specially praised M.B. Nirmal for his innovative plan to control breeding of mosquitoes for which he proposed to conduct ward wise demo through volunteers and students from various colleges in the neighborhood.
A power point presentation was also made in connection with anti mosquito campaign in city and its suburbs to the participants who included college students. Dr Gokula Indra, MLA, Anna Nagar Constituency also attended the meeting and commended over the anti- mosquito plan by Exnora and assured to render her support to all Exnora events and projects. Exnora International, a non-governmental environmental service organization was started in the year1989 at Chennai by M. B. Nirmal, a social activist. Exnora focuses on preserving nature and preventing environmental degradation.
