The Padi flyover junction is one of the important junctions in Chennai. It was constructed to facilitate easy movement of vehicles at the intersection of Inner Ring Road (IRR) and Madras Tiruvallur High Road. Motorists complaining about poor illumination around the Padi flyover will be a thing of the past.
A new high mass light post has been recently installed to brighten up the circular section of the flyover where the four loop roads intersect. CCTV cameras are also placed to monitor the traffic movement on all directions.
Earlier lack of illumination and poor maintenance made the Padi grade separator dangerous for motorists at night. Now things have improved. High-mast lamps and a green garden below the Padi flyover have giving the facility a neat and improved look.
