Villivakkam School Teacher Honoured

Lions Club International (District 324 A8) felicitated 150 teachers from 5 schools in the city who are conducting ‘Lions Quest’ classes for the students between 10 - 14 years age group during academic year at Hotel Palmgrove on 7th September 2013. 

The event was held to mark Teacher’s Day Celebrations. The teachers were felicitated by Justice A. Kulasekaran (Chairman, All India Railway Rates Tribunal Board), Dr. J. Uma Maheswari (Additional Secretary, Higher Education Department), V. Vanitha (Deputy Commissioner of Police) and G. Manilal (District Governor, Lions Club International).

Manilal said that teachers from Government Higher Secondary school (Anna Main Road, K. K. Nagar), Maharishi Vidyalaya (Kilpauk), St. Josephs’ Matriculation School (St. Thomas Mount), Rosary School (Adambakkam), Padma Sarangapani School (Villivakkam) and TTV school (Parrys) were awarded with shields. Manilal said that Teachers will be trained by Lions members and teachers handle students in the schools with help of the ‘Lions Quest’ course.He said that Club also plan to implement course in the more schools.
