In urban and sub-urban areas open space for the growing of fruits and vegetables is much restricted due to migration of peoples from nearby villages and expansion of residential areas.
Roof gardening is a concept primarily intended for production of fresh fruits, vegetables on their roof top to meet the daily requirement of the family.
Apart from this, medicinal plants, flowering, ornamental plants can be grown in roof garden.
One day training programme on “Roof gardening” will be conducted by the TNAU Information and Training Centre on 03.09.2013 (Tuesday) between 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.
The programme will be useful to those who are interest in having their own roof garden. Training certificates, lunch will be issued to all participants. Interested persons can contact Professor and Head,Tamil Nadu Agricultural University
