Pedestrian Footpath Renovation And Improvement Work

Footpaths and roads in a number of neighbourhoods in the 15 zones of the city are now being improved by Chennai Corporation under the Chennai City Beautification Development mission. The footpath along Shanthi Colony 4th Avenue, near Nalantha Flats is getting renovated by Chennai Corporation authorities. 

The area residents Said that the new footpaths needs to be built well keeping in mind pedestrian safety and open gaps along footpath ends needs to be blocked. Pedestrians can heave a sigh of relief. Chennai Corporation has started working on 71 new footpaths throughout the city. 

The new footpaths would be apt for walkers. It would be of standard size and made of granite with lesser height than the previous ones. Official Corporation sources stated that the new renovated footpaths would be free from such hindrances. Recently, Chennai Corporation has come up with the latest project to re-lay the city's footpaths on all the bus route roads with granite slabs
