Charity Programme To Support Poor Children’s Education


Indian Community Welfare Organisation( ICWO) is a non profit, non Governmental, Social work organization working for various developmental initiatives in specific focus to women and children for the past 19 years in Chennai.

Through their projects they have significantly identified marginalized children like homeless, human traffic survivors and HIV positive children.

ICWO is been supporting them through education for several years. As part of their fundraising efforts, ICWO has designed a programme titled “Charity Art Exhibition & Sale” from 3rd to 7th Septemmber 2013 at ITC Grand Chola, Guindy, Chennai. The funds raised through the sale of the art work will be deposited in the bank and the earned interest will be utilized to support the Education of multiple marginalized children in Chennai.

Leading, world famous and renowned artists like Ms.Vandhana Jain, Mr.Arun, Mr.Henry Daniel, Mr.Chelian.D, Mr.Pannerselvam,A.P.,Mr.Trostsky Marudhu.M, Ms.Premalatha Seshadri, Mr.Hans Koushik, Ms.Anuradha.N, Ms.Lakshmi Jayakrishnan, Ms.Uma Gowtham, Mr.Barathan, Mr.Srinivasan, Mr.Balu, Mr.Kasa Vinay Kumar, Mr.Narendra Babu, Mr.Kalaiselvam and Mr.James Manic have donated their paintings for the exhibition.

The Chief guest Mr.Philippe Charraudeau, Vice President & General Manager, ITC Grand Chola inaugurated the Charity Art Exhibition & Sale on 3rd September 2013.Speaking on the occasion Mr.A.J.Hariharan Secretary said, it is important to provide education support for the marginalised children to improve the quality of life. ICWO has been providing educational scholarship for 350 children every year for the past 12 years. The fund raising program will help us sustain the educational scholarship program for many more years to come.
