Modernisation of Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) bus shelters in Chennai city is under way.
Chennai Corporation is installing new stainless steel bus shelters to replace old and damaged shelters at many bus stops.
One such new stainless steel bus shelter is getting installed at Thirumangalam Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus stop.
A long steel bench has been provided for passengers to sit down. Bright display lights will provide the necessary illumination in the shelter at night.
The new facility is useful for passengers waiting for buses towards Mogappair, Ambattur Estate and Avadi. Chennai Corporation sources had stated that all illegal bus shelters will be pulled down and authorized modern bus shelters will be installed in its place.
